TENT circustheater producties is looking for 4/5 circus artists with movement and acting qualities for a new production: ‘The universe of the little prince’ a fantastic circus performance for the whole family directed by Ingejan Ligthart Schenk.
The classic story of Le petit prince by Antoine de Saint-Éxupéry, is the most translated book ever, apart from the bible. This story is the starting point for the contemporary circus performance ‘The universe of the little prince’. Le petit prince will not be recited from A to Z. The performance will work with the themes described in the book and will use the grotesque images that the book evokes. The artists will depict the stories together, and will constantly be switching roles.
‘The universe of the little prince’ will be created in Amsterdam, and will have a rehearsal period of 12 weeks in total, divided over 3 blocks of 4 weeks. The artists will have an important input in the creation of the performance, and will give substance to the scenes in close cooperation with the artistic team. The performance will mostly play in middle size theaters in The Netherlands, and will premiere in the fall of 2020.
WISHES
> you’re an artist with experience in group work
> you’re specialized in hand to hand acrobatics, floor acrobatic, handstands, object manipulation (no aerials)
> you apply as a solo artist, a duo or a trio
> you have affinity with movement theater
> you have affinity with youth theater
> you’re available throughout the entire period
> you’re ok with temporarily living in The Netherlands
> you dare to experiment
> you express yourself in English at a basic level
> you preferably have a degree from a circus school
DATES
Creation period:
> 4 weeks in February/March 2020
> 4 weeks in April/May 2020
> 4 weeks in September/October 2020
Performing period:
> from fall 2020 until at least summer 2020 (after this period we’ll consider the possibilities of continuation)
